Operations Manager – International Freight Forwarding – Houston, TX

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Minimum of five years’ experience as an Operations Manager in a freight forwarding company, with a track record of successful change management and process improvement.
• Leadership experience in a big leadership group with 5 or more direct subordinates
• Experience in a warehouse is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and analyse WIP/Accrual and Profit reports
• Strong operational and financial cycle knowledge on a monthly basis
• Experience with cargo is strongly recommended.
• Experience with ISO certifications such as 9001:2015, 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007, as well as their implementation and administration.
• Must be able to communicate successfully at all levels of the organisation.
• Sets a good example.

• Be a strategic thinker with business acumen, a strong will to succeed, and a skilled listener.

Requirements:

• 5+ Years Operations Experience in Freight Forwarding Industry
• Batchelor’s degree in business, logistics or equivalent combination of knowledge and teaching
• Proficient using Freight Forwarding software (Cargowise 1, SAP, AS400)
• Understanding and practice in Microsoft Excel and database functions.
• Out-going and forward-thinking mindset with the ability to decode problems in a timely manner
• Knowledge of state, federal, and international applicable laws and regulations as they relate to primary services provided (i.e., customs, security, other import and export government agencies)

Salary: $125,000 – $150,000

This is a direct-hire, full-time, permanent position.
