Job Summary
Responsible for Student Services: Enrollment Management (includes Outreach and Navigation, Admissions and Registrar, and Financial Aid), Pathways Advising, Student Life, Athletics, Chaparral Center, Carl Perkins Grant and student discipline/due process as needed.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in college administration
Working knowledge of all building needs and equipment in the areas of responsibility
Knowledge of general office equipment including computer, email, fax, copier, and telephone system
Effectively able to manage time and priorities in order to meet established deadlines
Work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers and other external contacts
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Ability to manage several departments and work cooperatively with staff and students
Familiar with policy formation and implementation
Familiar with Guided Pathways intake advising practice
Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills
Work in a team environment with multiple, sometimes changing priorities
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Community college experience
Essential Functions
Responsible for the leadership and supervision for all student services areas and departments listed above
Recommend to the President for approval the employment and assignment of personnel for Student Services, Athletics, Chaparral Center, and grant programs; serve as institutional Perkins grant contact person for Midland College
Serve on Administrative Council
Support and attend College events
Work with students individually to solve problems and evaluate requests for exceptions
Review and recommend for the President’s approval athletic travel and fund-raising activities
Prepare budget recommendations to the President for the Student Services, Athletic, and Chaparral Center areas
Actively participate in strategic planning, policy formation, decision making and the assessment of institutional effectiveness
Serve as student discipline official for the College
Retain a record of student complaints
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
Ability to work extended hours during periods of registration and Midland College or community events
Use of manual dexterity
Heavy computer usage
General office setting
Duties indoors and some outdoors
Attendance at Midland College or community events may be required
Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
