Job Description: The coordinator of education services is a qualified individual with knowledge of coordinating and maintaining staff development/educational practices. This position serves as the coordinator for the American Heart Association’s training center programs. She/he is responsible for supporting the education council and educational activities and for performing a full range of administrative / support services to Human Resources. Maintains a professional image for staff development/education services with all customers – physicians, staff, and the public. Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential matters related to human resources.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple staff development/education tasks and
services in an organized and orderly system.
In collaboration with the educational council, provides support for the council and educational offerings.
Maintains education calendar of events.
Reserves audiovisual equipment for educational events.
Orders and maintains office supplies for Human Resources, staff development and training center.
Serves as a resource for information, support, and quality control for all American Heart Association training center instructors.
Provides day-to-day management of local training center activities.
Accountable for the management of course fees and bank deposit slips.
Prepares reports and collaborates with others to maintain training center standings.
Demonstrates ability to maintain files and data base computer applications for staff
development and education.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
Supports and administers mail within the department.
Provides administrative / support services to Human Resources, e.g. maintain calendars for huddle and “chosen one” for file room control processes, department invoices and requisitions, expense reports, serves as timekeeper, etc.
Serves as a clerical resource for the Approved Provider Unit.
Tracks and manages all employee mandatory licensure/certifications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Desired knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
