Millennium Physicians Association Hiring for Fulltime | Medical Office Assistant | Monday-Friday 8-5 Job at Tomball, TX Full Time

General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for front desk and clinic duties in a busy Medical Oncology Practice. The Medical Office Assistant is the patient’s first point of contact, therefore requires a positive attitude and polished, professional appearance. This position will multi task a variety of medical office duties including check in, check out, scheduling, rooming, preparing patient charts, and obtaining patient vitals.

Essential Functions:

• Greet patients and assist patients/caregivers
• Check in patients and collect copays/deductibles/co-insurance amounts
• Check out patients according to the physician instructions and coordinate appointments
• Answering high volume of inbound calls
• Scheduling/Rescheduling patient appointments including imaging scheduling
• Insurance authorization for outpatient imaging services
• Rooming patients including obtaining vital signs and updating medications
• Prepare patient’s electronic medical chart to ensure all documents including imaging and pathology reports are filed accurately
• Maintain patient’s charts, demographics, and billing information
• Scanning and filing medical documents into electronic medical records
• Obtain necessary consent and HIPAA documentation
• Assist other medical facilities with any physician orders for mutual patients
• Assist efficient flow of information between patients and medical staff
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including flexibility, priority setting, problem solving, and conflict resolutions
• Maintain highly positive attitude
• Utilize time and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
