Independent Physicians of Wisconsin (IPW) is seeking an experienced Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant (certification is preferred, but not required) at Dr. Héctor M. Lopez’s fast-paced, dynamic Southside clinic, Milwaukee Family Practice. 30-34 hours, Monday through Thursday. Available from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Limited Fridays, no weekends.

- Proficient computer skills
- Keyboarding
- Navigation within a windows operating system
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Knowledge of medical terminology (CPT and ICD-10)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified – no experience required
- Uncertified – 5 years experience
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and room the patient for exam
- Record vitals
- Update medical information (Chief complaint/Meds/Allergies)
- Perform finger stick, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures (CLIA Waved Labs)
- Perform basic diagnostic testing (EKG/Spirometry/Audiometry)
- Administer immunizations and medications
- Assist provider with basic procedures (Ear lavage/Skin tag removal/Wart removal)
- Maintain open communication with the provider as well as other staff members to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Effectively communicate accurate and timely information to the patient
- Organize and prepare exam rooms, lab area, and work areas including:
- Stocking
- Ordering supplies
- Maintaining equipment
