Education, Experience and Knowledge Required:
The Peer Support Specialist should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and preferably two years of related experience. This person will be certified as a Peer Support Specialist. The Peer Specialist shall have group facilitation or co-facilitation experience. This person should also have completed a Wellness Recovery Action Plan or another plan for self and have knowledge on how to run a group assisting service recipients in learning how to write their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan or another plan. Basic knowledge of how to assist recipients with locating community resources (employment, housing, health, peer delivered services including 12 step groups, etc.) Work or volunteer experience providing peer support.
