Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking a Director of Talent Management, to join a team committed to excellence, continuous improvement and driving sustainable business results. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the growth and success of Mitsubishi Chemical Group Americas through the design & enhancement of organizational effectiveness by leading and executing talent management strategies in support of business objectives. This position will be responsible for leading and executing talent management strategies in the areas of recruiting, retention, selection, employee development, and succession planning for the Americas region and manage the Regional Talent Management team. The Director will work in close partnership Regional HR Directors and business leaders to accomplish key strategic priorities to drive the successful integration and sustainable results. The ideal candidate must be willing to roll-up your sleeves and actively contribute to all aspects of organizational initiatives including project management of initiatives from the co-creation process to implementation. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and works closely with the global CHRO for Mitsubishi Chemical Group in Japan to ensure there is a consistent and fully integrated talent strategy capable of building the talent required for our business now and in the future. What You Will Do…

• Talent Acquisition:
• Provide strategic direction in the design, development and implementation of talent acquisition programs that are required to achieve business goals.
• Provide leadership to the TA team by creating a culture of accountability with a focus on delivering measurable results.
• Provide input and oversight, guidance, and strategic direction on all activities related to talent acquisition, including university recruitment and employer branding.
• Establish a Talent Acquisition scorecard and metrics to monitor and communicate progress to HR and business leaders.
• Create and implement a formal college program including university recruiting, selection criteria, planning and oversee development program of co-ops and interns
• Partners with HR leaders to ensure the standardization and on-going maintenance of job descriptions and job evaluations
• Talent Development:
• Create a culture that actively builds contemporary skills and life-long careers, making our people a competitive advantage for a sustainable future.
• Partner with the HR teams in executing effective and consistent orientation and onboarding programs for new hires, new management, new managers of managers
• Direct the design, development, implementation, and ongoing administration of all learning and organizational development programs including but not limited to leadership development, HIPO development, succession management, career management, capability, and competency management
• Design practical and meaningful leadership development sessions, programs and other learning opportunities that enhance individual, leadership and team performance.
• Serve as an internal knowledge resource for adult learning, instructional design, facilitation, leadership development, change management, and other organizational development methodologies and tools.
• Consult with departmental leaders & HR leaders to conduct needs assessments to understand and evaluate current skills against business objectives and develop programs to close skill gaps
• Support and help coordinate efforts addressing regional & global initiatives regarding the realization of Kaiteki
• Succession Planning & Talent Deployment:
• Drive visibility of the talent within the Americas region and ensure a sustainable talent pipeline.
• Execute succession management strategies and processes, including, succession planning, talent reviews, and the identification of HIPOs.
• Develop and manage development plans for critical role and high potentials focused on internal mobility, advancing leaders and succession planning.
• Evaluate and deploy succession and high-potential identification and development programs that ultimately increase readiness and success rate of individuals identified as having the potential to assume broader positions or positions at a more senior leadership level.
• Build workforce planning capabilities to ensure talent availability is aligned with the business and strategic plans. Drive insight into knowledge transfer needs and develop plans to address
• Advise, coach and counsel HR team, leadership, management and employees on learning and development issues and the creation and implementation of individual development plans
• Partner with HR leaders to ensure Diversity and Inclusion strategies, standards, practices, and processes are implemented into talent processes
• Collaborates with Global HR teams to coordinate succession planning activities

What You Will Have…

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required, Master’s degree
  preferred
• 10+ years of broad HR experience including talent acquisition, talent management and performance management within a mid to large size organization with people management experience.
• 5+ years’ direct management experience leading, designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs and processes that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, talent acquisition, and relationship management aligned with business outcomes and realizing measurable impact.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to effectively diagnose, develop and implement appropriate interventions to drive organizational effectiveness using organizational systems and methodologies
• Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and execute the talent management strategies
• Strategic and creative thinking with ability to translate abstract ideas into tactical concepts and effectively implement them
• Ability to generate results through influence in a matrixed, global environment with multiple and diverse stakeholders
• Professional certifications in leadership development, coaching, instructional design, internal consulting, personality, and leadership assessments (including MBTI, Hogan and DiSC) are highly desired
• Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and effectively manage multiple complex projects.
