POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for a wide range of Health Information management duties including analysis, re-analysis, file retrieval, deficiency tracking, scanning and indexing as well as maintaining security and confidentiality of patient’s health information.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- º Required:
- º High School Diploma or Equivalent
- º Preferred:
- º Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT)
EXPERIENCE
- º Experience with computers
- º Proficient with spreadsheets and database software such as Microsoft Office and Excel
- º Experience with electronic health record
- º Experience with patient confidentiality and release of information
- º Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to health information records
- º One-year experience working in an HIM department
