Overview:
Processes and supports certain core operational functions within Commercial Loan Participations or Commercial Equipment Leasing, while remaining compliant with Department procedures, Corporate policies, Compliance, Audit and legal requirements. Maintains an active working knowledge of all functions within either of these groups to support and process as needed. Supports all projects within the area.
Primary Responsibilities:
Completes data entry updates, analysis and interpretation on existing participated or syndicated loans or all types of Commercial equipment leases (repayment structures and terms fall either inside or outside the normal set-up).
Complete standard and non-standard document review, processing and validation related to funding new syndicated, participated or Bank-owned Commercial equipment lease transactions, non-trust escrow disbursements for Leasing and Construction or remittance funds on existing participated or syndicated loan or lease transaction.
Complete intermediate level interpretation of loan or lease documents requiring unique repayment structures that fall outside standard set-ups.
Complete complex standard and non-standard level research spanning multiple business lines to respond to queries.
Complete high-level analysis and/or reconciliation supporting balancing work that crosses multiple business lines.
Complete standard and non-standard exception processing.
Serve as main contact point with Commercial bank, internal business partners and or other financial institutions; respond to and/or initiate complex requests related to these activities.
Complete intermediate level analysis and judgment based work all functions of the area.
Complete intermediate level document to system Quality Control and balancing of personal work and that of others.
Assist management with cross-training less experienced personnel.
Participate in resolving mid-level escalation or special requests that potentially span over multiple business lines.
Complete monetary remittance and fundings as submitter as required.
Complete cross-training with an active understanding of all functions of the team; serve as back-up to certain assigned functions.
Maintain active working knowledge of multiple Bank accounting systems and complete all transactions with each system to support the overall objective of the team.
Provide project support from department level to COE projects and initiatives, assist in preparation of procedural updates and/or assist with management requests to support department audits as required.
Understand and adhere to the Companyxe2x80x99s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Companyxe2x80x99s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Associatexe2x80x99s Degree and a minimum of 1 year related work experience, OR
In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year related work experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree
Prior Commercial Loan or Lease Operations experience
Active working knowledge of Commercial Equipment Lease types and structures
Prior experience with Commercial Loan Participation Syndication products
Prior knowledge and/or experience with loan or lease accounting
Prior knowledge and/or experience reviewing loan/lease legal document
Working Model/Schedule/Office Location:
This is a hybrid position, currently ing onsite 2 days per week to M&T Center (575 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203), Bridgeport Center (850 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604) or Williston Operations Center (422 IBM Road, Williston, VT 05495). Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00 pm.
