MANAGER, DISTRIBUTION & LOGISTICS
Shift: M-F Flexible Day Hours – may need to support evening and night shifts and attend meetings off shift.

Salary Range: $68,266 – $111,426
Job Summary:
Manages the day to day operations of all aspects of logistics, which includes Warehouse Operations, Distributions Services and Motor Transport. Provide support service and supplies to all critical patient care areas to include University Hospital, Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Missouri Orthopaedic Hospital, MRC and all clinics
Duties:
Manage a multi-million dollar inventory generating an equivalent value in monthly issues, and generating a large volume in monthly item picks. Manage multiple on-site inventory locations at all hospitals and off site clinics. Manage receiving, delivery and removal of capital equipment and surplus property. Oversee cycle counts, stock levels, reorder point levels, space allocations in order to make adjustments to inventory, research root causes and ensure financial efficiencies.
Develop, implement and monitor department goals and objectives; policies and procedures consistent with the University of Missouri Health Care. Develop and implement quality assurance programs for the department. Coordinate services with other hospital departments to ensure quality service is provided. Confer with physicians and other department managers and staff to resolve operational problems and promote interdepartmental communications
Manage transportation routes for the Motor Transport department ensuring timely pickup and delivery of specimens, medical records, radiology films, linen, sterile processed items, pharmacy items, mail, external patient transports and borrow/loan items from other system and non system hospitals and vendors
Oversee the Distribution Services, Warehouse Operations and Motor Transport vehicle fleet including box trucks, vans and cars.
Interview, select, oversee training, evaluate and counsel department staff in Warehouse Operations, Distribution Services and Motor Transport. Direct, evaluate, support and mentor Distribution Services supervisors
Instruct and advice staff on changes to policies, procedures or working standards through individual counsel and department meetings. Monitor departmental operations workload, productivity and objectives to ensure effective service and good guest relations are being provided. Ensures the timely communication of department goals, objectives and organizational activities and initiatives to all to staff
Monitor quality control of all departmental activities. Generate department productivity reports for benchmarking programs. Monitor other operational reports, make adjustments as needed, develop and implement plans. Oversee cycle counts and prepare year end inventory.
Work with Value Analysis, assist with standardization of products, bring new products into inventory, and coordinate the implementation of new items to PAR locations.
Represent the administrative department and superiors and participate in appropriate hospital committees.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
Perform related duties as required; may involve providing direct assistance in material handling activities.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in health management, business administration or a similar field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Requires four or more years experience in materials management or warehouse operations and transportation services is required, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
The individual must have the ability to provide excellent customer service and be professional at all times.
Requires proficiency in the use of all legacy computer systems and office software required to manage the business unit.
