Truck Driver
Job Description
Title: Truck Driver

Job Summary:
Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, company policies and procedures. Murco drivers must be able to navigate their designated routes quickly and efficiently to ensure timely deliveries. Our drivers are expected to transport various materials in a safe and timely manner according to all standards. as well as maintaining positive interactions with customers and vendors during pick-ups and deliveries.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance tasks before, during and after trips
- Responsible for brake adjustments, tire chain-ups and minor repairs as needed while on the road
- Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport
- Assist in loading and unloading as required
- Charge, maintain, and secure assigned pallet jacks
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Responsible to keep the interior and exterior of vehicle clean at all times
- Responsible to complete all accident forms thoroughly per Murco policies and procedures
- Use safety equipment only as directed and follow any and all safety requirements and regulations
- Assist in general upkeep of work areas for all locations visited
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Minimum requirements:
- Must have Class A CDL
- Must pass Murco road test, DOT physical exam, and drug screen
- Experience with vehicle with standard (manual) transportation, lift gates, and other material handling equipment
- Must have reliable transportation
- Background with truck driving experience
Abilities required:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be safety oriented
- Great communication skills and customer service skills
- Work well with others
- Take care of assigned vehicle as if it were your own, and meeting Murco policies/procedures standards
Paid Medical, Dental, Life Insurance and Paid holidays after 90 days of full time employment.
