Position Description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Business Group: MVP Group International, Inc.

Reports to: Distribution Manager

OVERALL PURPOSE/FUNCTION

Plan and direct all phases of Human Resource policies, administration of work rules and support initiatives for the Union City MVP Facility. Overall responsible for the employment training, labor relations and employee services. Ensure company compliance with all current and applicable labor laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Overall responsibility for the day to day performance of the Human Resources Department.
• Remain current on and enforce legal, regulatory and safety requirements as relates to federal, state and local regulatory agencies in accordance to current regulations.
• Provide guidance to Supervisors and Managers for counseling employees and the documentation requirements.
• Advise supervisors and managers in regards to termination issues. Prepare a written separation notice and attend termination meeting with Supervisor and employee.
• Assure MVP is in compliance with all Local, State, and Federal Laws.
• Supervise Human Resource Department employees including evaluations, counseling, adjusting and approving time.
• Manage the process of the weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Manage the collection, maintenance and auditing of personnel employment and confidential records for each employee.
• Manage all safety functions including but not limited to safety meetings, accident investigation, and possible improvements.
• Manage employee attendance policies and reporting, including absences, leaves, and paid time off (PTO).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or 5 to 6 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Basic typing skills (45wpm).Experienced in use of basic function calculator, key punch, basic accounting skills, initiative, stress management, excellent time management, analytical skills-comprehension, communication, diction, grammar, telephone skills, leadership ability. Experience in supervising eight to twelve employees in an office environment. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes programs.
