Job Purpose

National Grid Quality Engineering team is currently seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented professional to join in as aTest Data & Environment Engineer. The self-motivated candidate will beresponsible fordelivery of alltest environment solution architecture activitiesacross a programme of work and to coordinate test environments for multiple application development groups. This will include test environments for both isolated subsystems and end-to-end environments configuration while using a mixture of cloud-based infrastructure and bare metal systems.This is a fast-paced environment where you will have the chance to grow and build upon your existing knowledge and ability.

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver lower environment strategy & delivery plan for NG products & services
• Establish and maintain a refresh plan for environments as well as scheduling and managing E2E data refreshes
• Ensure Test Environments are delivered on plan for individual project usage
• Managing continuous Improvements and mitigating Test Environment & Data risks and issues
• Publish and execute a plan for environment maintenance (including environment downtime for data cleanse/refresh etc)
• Manage third party vendors on the provisioning, quality and capability of integrated environments.
• Communicate and coordinate with both engineering and product/platform services teams
• Are comfortable in an agile environment and understand the importance of working/developing iteratively
• Enjoy being part of a strong team of technologists and collaborating with them to build BIG things

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years’ experience of test environment and data management
• 3+ years of experience working in an agile software development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Data & Service virtualization techniques such as Synthetic data creation, d/b cloning, API virtualization.
• Experience in Test Data Management (TDM) processes – Data Creation, Data Mining, Data conditioning and data masking
• Experience in using TDM Tools such as Delphix (preferable), Informatica DDM, and DPM.
• Experience in using service virtualization tools such as Parasoft (preferable), Tosca, and ReadyAPI.
• Understands release engineering techniques, to deliver lower environment deployments with minimal environment downtime.
• Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes & cloud service provider preferably Azure
• Domain and technical thought leadership within testing space and experience in developing testing solutions, frameworks for Test Data Management
• Exposure to technology platforms like Salesforce, Mulesoft, and SAP
• Be a catalyst to develop ONE team mindset across geographically distributed Quality Engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or in STEM related field; Master’s Degree preferred
