Job Purpose

The Future of Heat Solutions (FOHS) Account Manager- Lead Program Manager will be responsible for working with the Sales teams to develop account plans with the company’s strategic accounts and communities that will focus on on meeting customer needs and achieving decarbonization through the strategic implementation of emerging technologies, new programs and customized energy efficiency (EE) solutions. The may include:

• Geothermal
• Hybrid heating
• Decarbonized gas supplies (RNG/Green Hydrogen)
• Demand Response
• Integrated EE

The FOHS Account Managers will manage the cadence of the account plans by collaborating with the Sales, Jurisdiction and Connections teams on project development activities and manage the customer relationship in the context of growth planning and carbon reduction, creating opportunities to support our customers while achieving our Fossil-Fuel Free Vision. In addition to Sales, Jurisdiction, and Connection teams, internal collaboration with the following groups will be essential: Future of Heat Engineering, Gas Control, Gas Pricing, Legal, Gas Supply, Jurisdiction, Long Term Planning, Project Management, and Finance

Key Accountabilities

• Assisting large customers with strategic growth plans by establishing a framework for long term energy master planning – coordinating with necessary internal departments (e.g. Engineering, Sales, Complex Connections Team, Future of Heat Solutions)
• Working collaboratively on execution of plans with the Strategic Sales Team
• Assisting the rest of the Future of Heat Solutions team with developing and executing pilots with customers on emerging technologies and new programs
• Participating in developing new regulatory filings that support creative customer solutions
• Communicating clear expectations and deliverables with customers and internal/external stakeholders to achieve strategic milestones
• Determining the need for changes to regulatory policies, corporate policies and procedures that will better enable the implementation of strategic projects under evolving utility business model.
• As needed, representing the company in targeted local, regional and/or professional organizations
• Ensuring effective communication and interaction with Sales & Program Operations, Future of Heat Solutions, Future of Heat Engineering, Customer Energy Management, Regulatory Strategy, U.S. Strategy, and Jurisdiction teams and other internal stakeholders
• Networking efficiently and effectively to identify and collaborate with new partners

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PMP) preferred
• Project, program, or portfolio management experience preferred
• Experience with business model development (e.g. NPV, BCA, value optimization) preferred
• Exceptional communication skills required
• Experience working in any of the following circumstances is preferred:

• at a utility
• within a regulated industry
• in the clean energy space
• Is recognized as a credible, knowledgeable, and effective professional who drives change, builds collaborative networks across business units and end-to-end processes, and delivers results.
• Demonstrates the ability to translate customer needs and market conditions into solutions, balancing the value of different solutions; understands how best to utilize them and drive greater performance, taking into account the wider business context.
• Is visionary in understanding the issues which National Grid is facing today and possesses the ability to make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and easy to understand.

Salary

MA: $109,000 – $128,000 a year

Upstate NY: $98,000 – $115,000

Downstate NY: $116,000 – $137,000
