Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and grow the Consulting Group staff in the technical service areas of Occupation Health and Safety (Industrial Hygiene), Stormwater, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance Program.
• Full P&L responsibilities of the Consulting Group
• Assist the Business Development Team in securing new opportunities from new and existing clientele.
• Provide technical expertise for federal, state, and local environmental regulations and policies for commercial and industrial clients.
• Manage and develop environmental compliance training programs.
• Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure that local, state, and federal environmental regulations, programs, record keeping/ permit procedures, monitoring and other related activities are being followed and performed to permit standards.
• Serve as client regulatory agency contact for inspections, permitting, and other communications with government agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of environmental permit renewals (air, stormwater, hazardous waste, etc.) and ensure all required reports are submitted on time to appropriate agencies.
• Develop, implement, and assist in maintaining “Best Management Practices” for clients including completion of housekeeping audits based on required frequency.
• Develop and implement environmental survey and permitting strategies for industrial and commercial clients.
• Manage external environmental compliance processes that require regular communication with the project team and third parties, and the development of a complete and organized project record to demonstrate compliance with federal and state regulations for clients.
• Oversee the development of necessary documents for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and federal and state policies and guidance for industrial and commercial clients.
• Lead federal and state regulatory agency consultation.
• Provide Senior Technical Review on technical reports developed for clients.
• Prepare project marketing materials in response to customer RFPs.
• Identify and communicate project needs, schedules, and risks across project support teams. Work collaboratively and efficiently with internal teams and external parties to execute project work on schedule and develop strategies to address environmental-related issues.
• Participate in regional and national initiatives, symposia, conferences, and industry groups as needed to achieve Company objectives.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of environmental policy, regulation and compliance that affect permitting and impacts on project environmental and safety compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with client partners, students, internal departments, and employees.
• Provision and facilitation of the business level EHS Strategy for Short/Medium/Long term goals and accreditations.
• Drive, create, define and shape CAP Program.
• Create EH&S program execution efficiencies to serve customer needs and ensure contract obligations are met.
• Coach guide and develop the functional professionals to best support the EHS programs/model.
• Work cross functionally with colleagues within the Operations teams to achieve business objectives.
• Responsible for leading, motivating and developing the EHS consulting team, ensuring high performance and achieving ambitious goals.
• Set and maintain standards (with support of Subject Matter Experts).
• Communicate, report, and analyze EHS KPI’s progress on Journey to EHS Excellence to leaders and employees.
• Establish a communication structure around EHS Excellence Models with interested customers.
• Comply with all federal, provincial, territorial regulatory requirements.
• Cultivate and maintain Client relations (client contact, follow-up, & contracts).
• Responsible for team management and mentoring including project scheduling, timesheet review & processing, meetings, administrative management functions, and approvals.
• Cultivate new business opportunities, assist in relationship building, and transition to Business Development Team for sales closure.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Experience-Required

• 15+ years in the environmental, health and safety or industrial hygiene consulting industry with direct experience managing responsibilities.
• 10+ years of P&L responsibilities including annual budget development and weekly performance tracking utilizing industry standard accounting platforms.
• Verifiable track record of developing client relationships and impressive existing client contacts that will result in RFP/Proposal opportunities.
• Experience and expertise interpreting federal and state environmental laws (ESA, CAA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA), guidelines, and policies, and developing project strategies for compliance with the same.

Experience-Preferred

• NEPA/SEQA experience
• Experience in Water/Wastewater, Construction, Natural Cultural Resources or Remediation Sectors of the Environmental Industry
• Experience with West and/or Southwest US
• Familiarity and experience working with California Regulatory Agencies
• Experience utilizing Sage Intact Accounting Platform and Salesforce CMS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, or similar science related degree.
• Advanced degree in environmental compliance/environmental policy/industrial hygiene or safety is preferred.
• At least one, if not several certifications as a, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA), Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESC), ISSP Certified Sustainability Excellence Professional (CSEP).
• CIH is preferred.

Wage: $165,000 to $195,000 annually

This is a hybrid position with three days in the office and two days working remote.
