Requirements:

The Staff Accountant – Hybrid is an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate books in a timely manner according to GAAP. This includes general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cost accounting, reporting, revenue recognition and tax. This position supports the budgeting and forecasting process. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments and external auditors.

PRIMARY DUTIES include but not limited to:

• Assist with the completion of the Company’s financial records including the monthly close; reconcile balance sheet, expense and revenue accounts, record journal entries and prepare supporting schedules, reconcile bank accounts
• Review revenue and COGS accounts for proper recognition and cost accounting. Analyze gross margin and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the preparation monthly financial statements, management reports, POC (Percentage of Completion) report, tax reports and monthly budget to actual reports; assist with external audits
• Back up accounts payable function as needed.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting and information requests.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA is preferred
• 3+ years of experience as a staff auditor in a public accounting firm plus prior commercial experience in various accounting functions, working knowledge of GAAP, gross margin analysis, cost accounting and financial reporting
