OverviewNew Legacy Group, LLC is a multi-faceted investment firm that is an SEC Registered Investment Adviser. We provide wealth management services, as well as exclusive access to direct investments and other alternative investment products and services. The RoleNew Legacy Group is a multi-disciplinary investment adviser looking to add an Assistant Controller to its team. This new position will be responsible for all core accounting functions in a growing investment firm with an entrepreneurial environment. The accountant will report to the Controller and will have direct exposure to the firm’s leadership team, who value meaningful input from all employees.You must have a natural passion for numbers and a strong understanding of the intricacies of financial transactions within an organization. You should possess a strong knowledge of applicable accounting concepts. While you are data-driven and system-savvy, you also like to innovate, improve processes, and create efficiencies. You enjoy working cross-functionally and demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesManage the accounting team including 1-2 corporate accountants as well as external auditors, fund accountants, and tax accountantsTrack investment cash flows and performing analysis and reporting on portfolio investment IRRs, asset flows and returnsCoordinate financial audits and tax filings for all entitiesManage fund flow, KYC and compliance for all private and hedge fund transactionsPreparation of account reconciliations, monthly financials and quarterly reporting package to investorsSupport cross-functional business partners, including FP&A, AP, Operations, Compliance, and MarketingPartake in ad hoc team projects and analysis, including new system implementationsMonitor reporting from portfolio companiesReview and set up all invoices for approval and paymentContinuously evaluate areas for process improvement and create new efficienciesAssist with analyzing financial results on a monthly basis and report on variances versus budget and forecastWork with external auditors, fund accountants, and tax accountants to ensure applicable deadlines are metQualificationsBachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA highly preferred4-5+ year(s) of experience in either public accounting or public/private accountingExperience in investment management or private equity at either a recognized accounting or investment firm a plusExperience with financial reporting and financial statement preparationProven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levelsProactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet pressing deadlinesTeam player with a strong work ethicProficient in Excel, experience with QuickBooks a plus, with the ability to learn and utilize multiple systems
