New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation Hiring for Accountant Job at Albany, NY Full Time

Position:

The New York Alliance is currently hiring an Accountant to run the business office and handle all aspects of the day-to-day financial management for the association. Primary responsibilities include coordination and completion of all aspects of accounting and monthly financial reporting. Additionally, the person will assist the CFO with the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts. This person will assist the team in maintaining internal control policies and procedures.

The New York Alliance has a warm working environment and we are looking for a valuable team member to become an integral part of the operations. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the desire to be an integral part of the association team of staff. Experience with NYS Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

· 1. Maintain G/L to include tracking deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Process Accounts Payable invoices and manage vendor records for issuance of 1099s at year-end.
3. Prepare bank deposits and post receipt of payments.
4. Ensure timely monthly and annual close for Financial reporting
5. Prepare supporting schedules for the annual audit and annual budget.
6. Prepare monthly Financial Reports.
7. Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and loan accounts on a monthly basis.
8. Prepare and provide necessary support to the CFO for the annual audit by an outside auditing firm.
9. Process Payroll through ADP and ensure all required reporting is completed as needed. Manage and allocate staff costs in accordance with time allocations and grant parameters.
10. Participate in the development of grant budgets with input from the subject matter expert. Prepare grant requisitions as scheduled.
11. Train Agency staff on Fiscal policies.
12. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in accounting including AP/AR, General Ledger oversight, financial statement preparation, and grant reporting
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
