ACCOUNT SALES MANAGER JOB PURPOSE:

Nikon is seeking a highly motivated Automation Metrology Account Sales Manager to increase Automation Project Sales, Commercial Sales and Support of Automation Metrology Products to industry and/or manufacturing accounts within assigned accounts and territory.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Generate new business, build strong relationships and ensure growth of existing accounts.
• Support direct sales for automation metrology solutions within assigned accounts and territory having oversight for region and/or direct reports within that region.
• Key liaison NMI management on automation opportunities.
• Key contributor to a team-based sales environment.
• Develop annual sales plan and strategies for territory and targeted accounts.
• Provide Automation Products Commercial Expertise and Automation Product Support to all product BDM’s.
• Create and deliver effective customer presentations, mailings, and seminars to targeted venues and customers in order to educate and attract them to Nikon technologies and products and services.
• Perform and support sales and marketing presentations, new product introductions and training to the customers.
• Execute a variety of sales development programs, as directed by management.
• Report on significant changes or trends with customers, competitors and their respective area sales.
• Maintain communication on product quality, key sales events, and significant market trends to management.
• Continuously self-improve the technical skills in the operation, function, application, theory and demonstration of all products and technologies within the assigned product families and how they are used in the marketplace.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and annual reports in a timely manner as directed by management.
• Attend national and/or local trade shows and exhibits as required and represent the company at special events.
• Monitor and control budget for travel and expenditure expenses.
• Maintain CRM initiatives and policies.
• Maintain opportunities, schedule, contact information and notes in the CRM system.
• Complete pipeline documentation as directed by management.
• Maintain an efficient and effective self-organized customer visit work schedule for growing business sales.

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide practical “hands-on” and direct customer contact.
• Globally, working with the various teams in multiples departments.
• Develop and communicate innovative ideas and solutions to customers’ challenges.
• All other duties, as necessary or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL

• 5 years of experience in technical product sales in Automation or support field.
• 5 years of experience with metrology/industrial applications.
• 5 years of experience with Industry and Manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate productive management techniques.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Knowledge and experience of metrology, Automation, inspection systems and associated software.
• Proven experience with customer relationships.
• Practically competent (can use tools as well as a computer).
• Ability to understand, analyze, and present metrology data.

DESIRABLE

• BS degree, or higher in a technical or scientific area of study.
• Computer programming experience.
• Knowledge and experience of CAD/simulation beneficial.
• Related equivalent experience in Metrology, X-ray, industrial scientific sales, optical systems, microscopy, or other applicable experience is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel, nationally or internationally, as required or needed.
• Able to travel a minimum of 80%.
