PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB
To manage an integrated portfolio of HR Service Delivery consisting of, inter alia, HR Information Systems, HR Governance and Support for NSA by applying the principles of transactional and transformational management through the implementation of relevant best practices that are aimed at achieving the organizational strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualification
A Degree in Human Resources management
Formal qualification in Employee Relations / Industrial Relations
Computer Literacy in MS Office
Knowledge and experience
6-10 years solid experience as HR Manager in a Manufacturing environment
Knowledge and understanding of the relevant employment legislation, LRA, BCEA, EEA
Ability to function independently and under pressure
Experience in working within a highly Unionized environment
Proven working experience as HR Manager in a manufacturing environment
People oriented and results driven
Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Ensure that HR strategy is integrated and embedded at all levels of the organisation
Work with HR General Manager to identify key trends, shifts or issues relating to employees that impacts on strategy delivery and define a HR plan to address these issues
Mentor and coach HR Business partners to build partnering capability
Drive optimal service delivery by ensuring collaborative relationships between various functional areas across the Organization
Ensuring training and development for the functions required according to needs and support succession planning, in conjunction with Learning and Development
Support wellness initiatives and ensure consistency in approach across the business
Assist the HR General Manager in managing the PMD reviews, Talent reviews and Succession Plans
Assist the HR General Manager in managing the Organization’s transformation (Employment Equity & Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment)
Ensure communication of the Global Employee Survey results
Support and build capability for functional managers to own and lead the talent agenda, nurture, and retain key talent
Assist the HR General Manager in the implementation of the employee relations strategy
Relationship – managing the processes involved in supporting union relationship
Grievance and conflict management – assist and manage processes to keep employees and managers informed of grievance handling procedure
Assist Line management in managing absenteeism, incapacity- poor performance and ill health /injury cases
Disciplinary cases – Manage the disciplinary process to ensure a speedy resolution
Provide Line Management with sound ER advice on all labour related matters
