NLM Engineering LLC Hiring for Part Time Outside Plant Engineer (OSP) Job at Altamonte Springs, FL Full Time

NLM is currently hiring for the position of Outside Plant (OSP) Design Engineer. This position is responsible for the creation of construction drawings for use in the placement of fiber or copper cable to provide telecom services to business and residential customers. The OSP engineer will complete site surveys, use notes to create the project plan, provide cost estimates and manage the OSP process to meet customer deadlines. The person hired will be required to have some flexibility in scheduling depending on the needs of the business. This position will be performed in a hybrid setting. The job will begin as part-time with the potential to move to full-time.

Essential Position Functions include but are not limited to:

• Use fielded notes to analyze and create detailed OSP engineering design of fiber optic or copper cable routes
• Create construction prints from fielded notes
• Create, submit, and manage permits for OSP design projects
• Schedule appointments and meet with business customers as needed
• Take pictures and summarize site survey results
• Create cost estimates for OSP design projects
• Take notes, measurements, and photos of the construction locations, cable routes, and equipment site then picture package summary to the design team.
• Willingness to learn ISP job functions

Education and Experience to include and not limited to:

• 2+ years of OSP engineering experience is required
• Lumen/CenturyLink experience in an OSP role is required
• Proficient in OSP design in NDS is required
• Knowledge of creating, submitting, and tracking permits (DOT, railroad, city, county, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (no DUIs or serious traffic violations)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite to include PowerPoint
