ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Finance Director by providing financial planning and analysis for the business by building and managing financial reports and preparing analysis for business reviews and other ad-hoc requests. Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with department leaders on all aspects of reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis of Non-Payroll expenses, identify cost savings opportunities, and work on special projects. The successful candidate will initiate analyses designed to improve operating performance and will effectively and persuasively communicate analyses and recommendations to all levels of management. This role requires significant accuracy and attention to detail as well as creative problem-solving abilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare financial analysis and reports (such as Budget, re-forecasting, and 3-year plans) that meet the timing and quality of presentation requirements, facilitate management review and decision making while ensuring integrity of data.
Support the annual budgeting and re-forecasting process of Non-Payroll, working with department leads and senior leadership to develop and track comprehensive budgets. Closely monitor performance to timely identify and communicate risks and opportunities to plan and recommend actions
Perform monthly accruals and reclasses. Ensures expenses are booked on time, to the correct account line with approvals in place.
Provide meaningful monthly reporting, analysis, and ongoing support to department leaders.
Maintain knowledge of spending trends, ensure accuracy of our financials, and explain processes and techniques to drive financial discipline
Prepare reports and consolidate commentary for monthly/quarterly performance packs
Update and maintain various internal reports
Ability to build ad hoc models, build Excel-based reporting and forecasting templates, and manage cross-functional projects
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business
1-4 years relevant experience
Proficient in Excel, including complex formulas, and pivot tables to automate and manipulate large amounts of data
Exceptional communication skills, organization techniques, and attention to detail
Positive, cooperative attitude; Ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously internal and external a dynamic fast-paced environment
Proactive individual looking to continuously take on additional responsibility and improve processes and procedures
Experience with SAP is a plus
Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines
Independent self-starter, with excellent communication skills
Affinity for beauty and retail
