This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. This position manages environmental data and reporting of Per- and Poly-Fluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS). The position participates in data analysis, systems integration and process optimization. Additionally, this position will play a critical role in developing and presenting documentation and training for data governance and analysis.Key Responsibilities: Perform QA/QC checks on incoming Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs) and coordinate parallel QA/QC checks performed by agency chemists.Perform regular audits of data for consistency as our data governance policies.Use reporting tools in EQuIS data management software, create tables, graphs and maps.Ensure the proper requirements are collected from stakeholders to develop a data deliverable.Assist with setup and configuration of existing tools within EQuIS to perform sample planning, QA/QC checks, and automatic report generation for several study groups within the agency.Update and/or develop documentation, such as data management plans, data related SOPs and QAPPs, various metadata, and training materials.The Division of Water Resources:The Division of Water Resources is responsible for protecting North Carolina’s drinking, surface and groundwater for all waterbodies including lakes, streams, rivers, wetlands and aquifers. This environmental stewardship is accomplished through actions including permitting issuance, investigations, regulatory compliance and enforcement, monitoring and field assessments, certifications, laboratory analysis and testing, planning, water quality standards management, educational outreach and other efforts. The Division comprises six Sections: Water Quality Regional Operations; Water Sciences; Public Water Supply; Water Quality Permitting; Groundwater Resources, and Water Planning.
