The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support the efficient operation of our organization. This role involves managing day-to-day office operations, providing comprehensive administrative support to the NCCAT Executive Team, and facilitating communication with the Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and resourceful professional capable of handling a wide range of administrative responsibilities. This position will assist as needed in the planning, preparation, and follow-through of meetings and events. The incumbent must maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding work within the Administrative Unit. The position is responsible for managing ongoing and effective communications with key constituents, including the public, the Department of Public Instruction and other North Carolina agencies and entities, school districts and their respective administrators, public school teachers, legislative leaders, and liaisons, Board members, and NCCAT staff.
The position will be required to travel overnight to occasional meetings on NCCAT’s Ocracoke Campus. Up to 5% Travel Required.
NCCAT, a unit of the State Board of Education, is a year-round residential education center for North Carolina teachers in grades pre-K through 12. The Center provides professional development programs that emphasize intellectual growth while modeling exemplary teaching. NCCAT programs enhance teaching as an art and as a profession.
