This position reviews Per- and Poly-Fluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) programmatic actions for the evaluation and review of applications including National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and all aspects of the related Domestic and Municipal program submissions. This may also include all aspects of the pretreatment program for indirect Industrial dischargers. This position will provide support for the administration of NPDES Permit Program and all associated functions. Other Key Responsibilities: Provides technical review, and prepares for approval, applications submitted for NPDES wastewater permitting. This position will primarily address municipal and domestic NPDES permits focusing on the Division and Agency goals,Provides technical assistance and oversight in support of departmental and division goals for implementing PFAS monitoring, identification, and implementation requirements,Assists with the development of PFAS environmental guidance, policy and procedures for the Division of Water Resources point source programs, andSpecial projects and assignments.The Division of Water Resources:The Division of Water Resources is responsible for protecting North Carolina’s drinking, surface and groundwater for all waterbodies including lakes, streams, rivers, wetlands and aquifers. This environmental stewardship is accomplished through actions including permitting issuance, investigations, regulatory compliance and enforcement, monitoring and field assessments, certifications, laboratory analysis and testing, planning, water quality standards management, educational outreach and other efforts. The Division comprises six Sections: Water Quality Regional Operations, Water Sciences, Public Water Supply, Water Quality Permitting, NPDES Permitting.
