This position will manage and oversee the Division of Water Resources (DWR) data collected from DWR’s major software systems; the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), EQUIS, the Enterprise Database system (Laserfiche), Geographical Information System (GIS), and other divisional software used to store PFAS data. The main goal in directing the management of the datasets will be to make DWR’s Per- and Poly-Fluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) data available to all staff and to assist in enabling DWR Sections (Public Water Supply, Permitting, Water Sciences, Groundwater) to present this data in a format for Department wide organizational needs. This position will work with DEQ Business Applications and DIT who will be responsible for the maintenance of some of this software infrastructure.Key Responsibilities: Supervise, organize, collect, and update DWR’s PFAS and other data information systems, including metadata.Coordinate multi-Division adoption and implementation of enterprise database management systems.Supervise a team including performance management and workforce development.Assist management and staff in the technical evaluations of application requirements, provide solutions and implementation strategies.Providing public interface to DWR data via Laserfiche, Dashboards, GIS maps, and other means.The Division of Water Resources is responsible for protecting North Carolina’s drinking, surface and groundwater for all waterbodies including lakes, streams, rivers, wetlands and aquifers. This environmental stewardship is accomplished through actions including permitting issuance, investigations, regulatory compliance and enforcement, monitoring and field assessments, certifications, laboratory analysis and testing, planning, water quality standards management, educational outreach and other efforts. The Division comprises six Sections: Water Quality Regional Operations; Water Sciences; Public Water Supply; Water Quality Permitting; Groundwater Resources, and Water Planning.
