- Full time
- 1st shift
Essential Functions:
- Creates, plans, implements, facilitates, and evaluates therapeutic recreation programming based on assessment of patient’s needs
- Completes all required therapeutic documentation including initial patient evaluations, assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Responsible for keeping recreation supplies neat and orderly
- Able to transport patients to and from programs
- Possesses a wide array of recreation knowledge, skills, and modalities
- Facilitate collaborative relationships with all disciplines to promote a positive patient centered approach to care
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to identify concerns and issues and provide ideas for resolution
- Ability to self direct and complete job tasks with minimal supervision
- Flexibility with schedule changes and work assignments
- Exhibit knowledge of least restrictive intervention strategies and utilize redirection when necessary to maintain patients’ safety
- Ability to maintain a professional therapeutic rapport with patients
Required education and experience:
- Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
- CPR/First aid certified
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
Preferred education and experience:
- Brain injury knowledge/experience
- Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or similar field
Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Valid WI drivers license with a clean record preferred
- Independent, self-directed, flexible, creative
- Organized, problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
