Patient Services Associate
Position Overview

As the face and first functions of the practice, this critical position is responsible for establishing a positive experience for the clinic’s patients as well as the establishment and maintenance of a complete and accurate medical record . This is accomplished through the pleasant and efficient handling of patient appointments and requests, accurate and complete entry of patient information seen through the lens of the medical billing office, and proactive efforts to help prepare for future appointments and interactions.

Job Duties

• Oversight of front office and lobby, to include opening and closing office
• Answer and schedule incoming appointment requests, as well as handle other in coming questions and requests via online portals, emails and faxes
• Efficient and accurate registration of patients
• Dispense orthotics, medical records, etc to patients and guests
• Prepare for next business day through appointment reminders and chart preparation
• Complete over the counter sales and returns
• Scan documents into medical records
• Complete other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 2 years front medical office experience preferred
• Medical billing knowledge very helpful
• Well functioning in a busy environment
• Strong computer and online technology preferred

Skills/Knowledge

• Medical terminology
• General clinic operations
• Solid understanding of the relationship between medical records and medical billing processes
• Fluid working knowledge of MS Office programs, internet, email operations
• Emotional intelligence coupled with professional communication skills
• Able to organize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Must be methodical and very detail oriented
• Implement logical work arounds to ensure smooth operations despite operational hiccups
