Full Job Description
The 401(k) Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 401(k) retirement plans for salaried and union employees and ensures plans are administered in accordance with regulations and plan provisions.
Administers retirement plans including eligibility, enrollments, vesting, suspensions and terminations. Processes required documents (including name, address and beneficiary changes) through payroll and Trustee to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions in a timely manner.
Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees have an understanding of retirement plan provisions. Involved in employee educational presentations.
Annually reviews and communicates with Trustee to ensure RMDs are properly implemented and competed.
Assures compliance with DOL and IRS 401(k) rules and regulations, and determines how they interact with the Company’s plan document provisions and practices.
Prepares reports and data to external auditors for DOL and IRS reporting.
Conducts all non-discrimination testing to ensure plan remains qualified.
Distributes required notices to all eligible participants and beneficiaries as necessary.
Performs customer service functions by answering employee questions/concerns.
Knowledge of principles and practices of retirement plans.
Effective oral and written communications skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy.
Work independently with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
High standard of attention to detail and confidentiality.
Associates degree in Business or HR or equivalent experience
Ability to perform other HR related functions as required
