Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Accountant role.

This position is not location specific, but preferred candidates will be local to Irving, TX OR McLean, VA OR Baltimore, MD (there may be a need to occasionally go on site).

The position has responsibilities to include the following General Accounting tasks:

• Coordinates the month end, quarter, and year end accounting close requirements
• Prepares, reviews, approves journal entries
• Prepares and validates month end financial statements and disclosures
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
• Analyzes monthly trial balances
• Performs account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items for owned accounts
• Performs intercompany accounting
• Assist General Accounting and International Accounting team members as needed with a variety of Accounting tasks
• Represents and supports Organization on variety of special projects
• Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
• Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
• Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
• May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
• Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, must minimally meet the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience OR a Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience
• Ability to occasionally go on site at one of our offices in Irving, TX OR McLean, VA OR Baltimore, MD
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• CPA
• SAP, HFM, Excel Expertise
• Familiarity with GAAP, FAR, CAS, IFRS
• Preferred candidates will be local to Irving, TX OR McLean, VA OR Baltimore, MD (there may be a need to occasionally go on site)

Salary Range: $69,300 USD – $103,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
