Position Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the EnVision Center Coordinator will coordinate a variety of resources and tools that offer pathways to economic opportunity and self-sufficiency. The coordinator will implement the Four Pillars of Opportunity as it relates to the program: Economic Empowerment, Educational Advancement, Health and Wellness, Character and Leadership. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, directing, and managing specific services of the Adult Education and Literacy Program (AEL) as well as ConnectHomeUSA. The Coordinator ensures that each program under the EnVision Center achieves its program required goals effectively.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Supervise all personnel assigned, recommending selection, retention, promotion, and discharge as appropriate.
· Implement Activities to meet the goals of the four pillars of opportunity.
· Coordinate partnerships with local companies and organizations.
· Coordinate fundraising efforts in compliance with the EnVision Center’s needs.
· Coordinate mentoring and volunteering opportunities.
· Oversee guidance and ensure residents (youth) are paired with a mentor who meets their specific needs.
· Oversee the after-school program and its activities.
· Coordinate fitness and nutritional related activities.
· Resource and coordinate efforts for the program as it relates to the educational advancement
o Develop- administrative, design, and reporting
o Admission/Participation- marketing and design
o Communication- internal and external messaging and communication
o Events- general coordination in partnership with NWGHA and external organizations.
· Spearhead efforts to encourage participation in multiple programs.
· Implement efforts and meet goals for ConnectHomeUSA.
· Recruit and mentor AEL Teachers and Literacy Coordinator and Clerk.
· Maintain current teacher certifications.
· Instruct GED courses as needed.
· Determine, establish, and operate AEL site.
· Develop and manage the curricula for GED and ESL program.
· Assign schedule for AEL budget.
· Prepare and manage AEL budget.
· Maintain AEL records as required by NWGHA and TCSG.
· Develop grant proposals for NWGHA, TCSG and additional resources.
· Prepare departmental reports an required AEL reports.
· Coordinate marketing of the Adult Education programs.
· Work with appropriate NWGHA staff and departments to successfully transition GED students to college level coursework and programs.
· Provide academic advisement services or appropriate referral for AEL students.
· Attend AEL regional and statewide meetings and conferences.
· Attend workshops to maintain AEL certification.
· Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to the established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of modern office equipment including copiers, personal computers, calculators, fax machines, etc.
· Ability to assist in planning, promoting, and evaluating the EnVision Center programs.
· Ability to prepare and present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to communicate with people from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds
Education and Experience
· A Bachelor’s degree is required with specialization in business management, marketing, communications, and or social services.
· Any equivalent combination of training and experience to meet the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
· Possession of a valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.
· Ability to be insured under the Authority’s fidelity bond
