Logistics Operations Specialist for Air- & Ocean freight Export/Import
US Subsidiary of European Logistics company in the Northern NJ area is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Specialist to join their team. The Logistics professional will get the opportunity to join a young and growing innovative team. The ideal Logistics Operations Specialist will have an import/export background in international Airfreight and Oceanfreight transportation and ideally incl. domestics shipment pick up/delivery and drayage experience. This Logistics Operations Specialist will be responsible for primarily export operations handling incl. purchasing. Other responsibilities of this Logistics Operations Specialist will include but not be limited to:
– Responsible for organizing and prioritizing the given tasks of daily export and/or import shipment operations and ensuring that they are carried out effectively and efficiently.
– Ensuring all shipments are picked up and delivered on time.
– Overseeing International and Domestic shipments, working with customs brokers and handle shipping, and receiving.
– Creating billing documents for customers.
– Providing the support needed to ensure operations meets deadlines and requirements
– Quoting / raise proposals for customers and agents globally
– Offer multiple solution – creative solutions and out of the box thinking
– Administrating the transfer of shipment documents to service providers.
– Ensuring documentation is received and processed in a timely manner.
– Verifying shipping information on documents for customer orders and verify receipt of goods to warehouses into internal system.
– Maintaining good working relationships with clients and vendors.

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or relevant field preferred.
3+ years of export/Import logistics, and/or relevant experience required
German (or other Language skills) are a plus.
Knowledge of Scope software a plus.
Drayage contracts experience a plus.
Strong communication (written & verbal)
Ability to multitask
Detail oriented
