Position Summary:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field based scientific and clinical professional responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and building a well-informed advocacy base for NxGen MDx’s products. The MSL acts as a scientific ambassador by providing accurate and updated clinical, scientific, and medical information to clinicians, researchers, payers, and other healthcare professionals. The MSL also supports NxGen MDx’s sales and marketing teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintains business and clinical knowledge across the product portfolio including the urogenital and respiratory pathogens landscape; and prenatal, carrier, and cancer screening. This includes current diagnostic markets, current and potential competitors, and new therapeutic developments.
• Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at office visits, advisory boards, medical meetings, and other appropriate venues to enhance product and services knowledge.
• Provides effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences and tailors presentations to meet specific needs of the audience (appropriate response to unsolicited requests).
• Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialized products.
• Maintains clinical expertise through comprehensive education including attendance at relevant symposia, scientific workshops, and review of key journals. Participation in required internal training, presentations, and journal clubs.
• Works collaboratively with relevant internal stakeholders to identify local/regional educational gaps/needs and apply appropriate field medical support that is aligned with medical strategy.
• Provides field updates regarding topics of interest to NxGen MDx’s sales team.
• Addresses administrative and reporting needs on a timely basis or as requested by management.
• Able and willing to travel to home office, customer interactions and conventions approximately 30% of the time.

Education & Experience:

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
• Minimum of 1 years of clinical experience in women’s health is preferred
• Laboratory experience preferred
• Impactful speaker in both small and large group settings
• Proficiency in medical terminology.
• Knowledge of laboratory/medical industry, including relevant diagnostic tests.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools.
