The Facilities Management (FM) Line of Service manages, operates, and maintains 55 City-owned buildings throughout the five boroughs, working to provide safe, clean, and energy efficient space for tenants in DCAS-managed spaces. Facilities Management seeks an Assistant Commissioner of Facilities Management Operations (FMO) to oversee the administrative, legal, contractual, and data management functions that support and assist the other units within FM in managing, maintaining, and repairing buildings in the portfolio, as well as providing strategic oversight and guidance to the Deputy Commissioner of FM.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience of a nature to qualify for the duties of the position, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising personnel performing activities related to the duties of the position; or”
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” above. However, all candidates must have the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience described in “1” above.
The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, and preferably Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of full-time relevant work experience in facilities management, tenant services, construction management, administration, or a related field; five of those years must be in a managerial capacity. As well as at least seven (7) to ten (10) years or more of experience with increasing responsibility in project management, with specific experience in the related operational fields of facilities management, municipal procurement, contract administration, and organizational operations.
