The Ocean Community YMCA located in beautiful Southern RI is hiring for a Human Resources Director.
This position has primary responsibility for administering the human resources policies and programs in accordance with the purpose and mission of the Association. The major areas covered are employment, orientation, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, Association insurance, safety and health, and employee services. This position also develops and maintains human resources practices and objectives that will provide a balanced program throughout the Association.
Essential functions of this position are below.
1. Ensures that the Association wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, employee benefits programs and services are implemented, updated and maintained so that all employees are fairly compensated.
2. Administers employee benefits programs such as retirement plans, health insurance, term life insurance plans, short and long term disability programs and accidental death policies.
3. Develops and communicates to employees the standards, policies and procedures of the Association.
4. Develops and maintains the necessary system of record keeping, reporting and monitoring for adequate control of personnel records with particular attention to keeping required employee certifications current.
5. Communicate with Workers’ Compensation carriers to ensure timely reporting procedures, follow up and implementation of training programs.
6. Protects employees and the Association in accordance with current human resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Reviews appeals through grievance procedures.
7. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions (e.g. OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Transportation, and Wage and Hour) and monitors exposure of the Association for both RI and CT. Directs the preparation of information requested or required for legal compliance.
8. Reviews and recommends employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship to promote high level of employee morale.
9. Ability to determine and analyze sensitive issues relating to the Association.
10. Reviews, monitors and communicates with insurance representatives with regard to all insurance coverage for the Association. Processes liability and workers compensation claims.
11. Develops and conducts training programs for management and non-exempt employees.
12. Develops and communicates policies in conjunction with risk manager.
13. Cooperates with the Human Resources and Executive Committees, Board of Directors and other committees as necessary to ensure efficient professional services through the Administrative Office.
14. Maintains current CPR/AED, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications.
15. Actively participates and supports the annual campaign.
16. Tracks training and develops Association Training Calendar on a yearly basis.
17. Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
