Tehama County Department of Child Support Services is one of 47 local child support agencies in California. Tehama Child Support Services manages over 3500 child support cases. IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Tehama Department of Child Support Services is looking for a new positive and professional team member with exceptional attendance and dedication to punctuality, excellent customer services skills, knowledge of community resources for families and savvy computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Bilingual skills desired but not required. At a later date Spanish speaking candidates may request the ability to test to demonstrate Bilingual proficiency.
DESCRIPTION:
Employees are expected to be fully qualified and able to perform difficult and responsible office support work within the framework of established work methods and procedures and to use independent judgment in selecting and applying specific references, procedures, sequences, and alternatives to different work situations, referring non-procedural questions to the supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Obtains information from customers, visitors, or callers to determine appropriate resource, action, document, or staff referral to meet their needs. | Operates multiline telephone system including answering calls, transferring calls, and taking messages | Addresses complaints and explains regulations to customers or the public.

LICENSE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment. Strength stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work including transporting mail, supplies, filing, operating a motor vehicle and visiting various County and meeting sites. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen. Hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, set up/ file various data and records and to operate standard office equipment.
Ability to do computer work for extensive periods of time. Occasionally bend, carry, stoop, squat, twist, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information Employees must possess the ability to constantly move about on foot and to lift, carry, reach, push, and pull materials and objects, up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently, as necessary to perform job functions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may encounter emotional customers. Employees balance answering phones, triaging customer needs, computer entry, and other office duties.
