Position Summary:
Responsible for performing Human Resources (HR) Operations day-to-day duties and managing the administration of key HR programs and procedures. Responsibilities in the following functional areas: HR administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and recruitment support.
Primary Duties:
Independently administers and communicates various human resource plans and procedures (i.e. reasonable suspicion administration, return to work process, CARES program, performance management administration, etc.).
Works in partnership with strategic business partners on key issues to facilitate all business unit HR needs.
Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Conducts employee relations investigations, counseling, terminations, and exit interviews.
Recommends appropriate course of action.
Recommends and implements new approaches, policies and procedures to positively impact continued improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Establishes on-going knowledge base for HR practices and key trends.
Partners with HR COE’s (Centers of Excellence) to ensure organization meets governmental compliance standards (Affirmative Action, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, etc).
Administers HR programs (lineman intern program, retirement, consulting, etc.) Coordinates employee recognition programs such as storm awards, cash awards, job progression etc.
Administers exit interview process and unemployment insurance claims process.
Coach, mentor, and act as a resource for HR team members with less experience.
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Centers of Excellence (COE’s) to develop interventions, solutions, programs and policies while ensuring all governmental compliance standards (Affirmative Action, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, etc.) are met.
In partnership with Compensation, develop pay recommendations for new hires, promotions, transfers, etc.
Maintains the highest degree on confidentiality and professional discretion.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED And 10 years general business experience, And
6 years HR experience; Or
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, And 5 years HR Generalist experience; Or
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, And 6 years HR Generalist experience; Or
Master’s Degree (MBA or Master’s in HR), And 4 years HR Generalist experience. Valid State Driver’s License.

Strong knowledge of Human Resource disciplines, including staffing, employee development, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, etc.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and diagnose problems, develops alternative solutions, and recommend and implement an effective course of action.
Ability to offer informed opinions and give guidance and direction to others.
Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to present to both large and small groups fostering an open, honest, and trusting environment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and encourage participation from others, to convey essential information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, and to actively listen while gathering information.
Demonstrated ability to perform work with short deadlines and be able to handle sensitive, personal matters requiring discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated strong customer service focus and skill.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Working Conditions:
Work in an office environment.
May require travel and overnight stays.
May work non-standard hours.
