The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA) has an opening for a Finance Director. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related field and a minimum of five years of experience is required. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. Experience in GAAP conversion, Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), financial management of public agencies, and grant fund accounting is also preferred. Responsibilities include preparation and administration of the agency operating budget, preparation of monthly financial reports for board meetings and federal and state grant agencies. OMEGA is subject to a federal single audit. The Finance Director works directly with independent or state auditors to ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations. The Finance Director handles all cash receipts and accounts payable reconciled on a monthly basis, including the preparation of a cash reconciliation report and revenue and expenditure reports for grant reimbursement requests. Other accounting responsibilities include payroll and federal, state and local tax payments and reports, including IRS Form 941, Ohio Business Gateway – state, local, school and unemployment tax, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and Ohio Public Employment System (OPERS) and Deferred Compensation contributions. Other human resource responsibilities include maintaining employee files and administering personnel policies and procedures and the health insurance plan. This is a full-time 40-hour per week position and salary is based upon education and experience.
