Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Responsibilities:
Hiring and Onboarding:
Write and send out job offers/addendums in Bamboo
Communicate directly with potential employees regarding salary negotiations and other pre-hire questions
Send out New Hire Packet to new hires
Verify employment eligibility for new hires (I9, background check, vaccines, etc.)
Onboard new employees on first day of employment
Create Opal accounts for new employees (Google, KIPU, Robin, Brivo, Relias, NAVIA)
Track all training requirements for new hires in Bamboo HR
Manage employee credentialing with insurance companies
Monitor credentialing applications and check in regularly with insurance companies
Offboarding: Delete all relevant Opal accounts when an employee terminates
Employee Benefits and Compensation:
Process bi-weekly payroll
Track employee changes to salary/hours/etc. for payroll purposes
Audit employee Time Off balances
Update deductions (health insurance, etc.) in Bamboo HR
Update Time Off/WFH Banks in Bamboo HR
Collect and submit Health Insurance paperwork
Collect and submit Simple IRA paperwork for employees
Track corrected Simple IRA contributions in spreadsheet and send to ADP
Research and implement employee benefit package
Manage enrollment in NAVIA Commuter and Daycare FSA accounts
Maintain nondiscrimination testing for NAVIA Daycare FSA
Track employee continuing education expenses
Manage and operate peer recognition bonus program
Manage employee medical and family leave requests
Compile data for yearly external salary analysis
Compliance:
Help keep Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures up to date and compliant
Track annual vaccine requirements for all employees in Bamboo HR
Track Employee Licensure
Oversee application process for CAAR licenses
Track Food Worker Cards for milieu therapists
Run annual background checks for all employees
Maintains Opal insurance policies (general liability, professional liability, etc.)
Reviews employee performance improvement plans
Maintains personnel files in accordance with all city, state and federal requirements
Ensures compliance in employee termination processes
People and Culture:
Conduct quarterly stay interviews with current employees
Conducts exit interviews, analyzes exit interview data, and presents findings to leadership team
Manages employees grievances
Other duties as assigned
Education/Credential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Skill Requirements + Opal Value Alignment:
Hours: Part-time, hourly, 12-20 hours/week
Compensation:
Hourly salary range: $25.87 – $49.52 based on work experience directly related to this position. Benefits package includes: PTO, retirement account with employer matching
Vaccines: All Opal staff are required to be fully vaccinated with either a two-shot series of an mRNA vaccine or the one-shot J&J vaccine, along with a booster of an mRNA vaccine and Bivalent covid vaccination (if it has been the recommended length of time from your last vaccination). As the CDC updates its recommendation on boosters, we ask our staff to comply with the most current recommendations regarding vaccinations and boosters. Annual flu shots are required by December 15th of each year. Opal will honor religious accommodations requests under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and medical accommodations via the American Disabilities Act.
