The Human Resources Health and Wellness Coordinator oversees and manages Opportunity Council benefits plans and wellness programs; administers leave programs, including FMLA and Washington State PFML; handles worker’s compensation; and collaborates with the Human Resources Director to manage resources and department-specific needs and requests during public health emergencies. The HR HW Coordinator is the systems administrator for all HR health and wellness IT systems and platforms, including the employee benefits portal, and is responsible for the data integrity, safeguarding, and recordkeeping of employee benefits information.
The HR HW Coordinator will prioritize expanding wellness offerings, initiatives, and programs. The agency’s renewed emphasis on mental health wellness and employee resiliency will necessitate an innovative and creative approach, as the agency has a variety of workplace settings across five counties. The HR HW Coordinator works closely with the HR Talent Manager to provide up-to-date agency-wide HIPAA training and information and ensure that employees have access to health and wellness information through on-demand learning and communications campaigns.
This position can work from the Bellingham or Oak Harbor office.

Essential Employee: Remote Essential: This position is an essential employee who ensures the continuity of critical functions and business operations at Opportunity Council and will be expected to work remotely even if Opportunity Council is otherwise closed for services and operations due to weather, public health emergency, or similar event
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in a fast–paced office environment with frequent interruptions and often crisis situations.
