The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
(EECS) at Oregon State University invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of novel electronic devices,
sensing and signal processing. These positions will strengthen and support the university’s vision of leading world-class team-based,
interdisciplinary research and education in ocean, earth and climate science; and technologies for bettering the quality of human life. The
appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for Associate or Full
Professorship. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline
by the expected start date of Fall 2022.
Successful applicants will demonstrate capability for building a strong research program
that complements existing expertise in the School of EECS and enhances scope for collaborative and multidisciplinary projects with the
Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems Institute; the College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences; the Hatfield Marine Science
Center; and the Oregon Health and Science University, among other organizations. Successful applicants will also demonstrate passion for and
excellence in teaching and mentoring, with a strong commitment to promoting inclusion and equity for learners from diverse groups. The
applicants are expected to be able to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in electrical and computer engineering in different
modalities as required. The School of EECS has over 100 faculty members (of which 64 are tenured or on tenure track) and more than 3900
undergraduate and 450 graduate students. Numerous national awards attest to the scholarly accomplishments and distinction of the faculty: 2
inductees in the National Academy of Engineering, 23 professional society fellows and 27 winners of prestigious early-career investigator
awards. Students and faculty members have access to extensive shared-use equipment including for fabrication and characterization of
electronic materials and devices housed in the Materials Synthesis and Characterization Facility. Opportunities for collaboration with
industry partners in Oregon’s silicon forest and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory also abound.
