Osmose is currently seeking a Supervisor – Engineering to work in our West Covina, CA office. Primarily responsible for supervising the activities of engineering technicians, data analyst, distribution technicians, project coordinators, and/or engineers as well as ensure processing, production, quality expectations, and schedule are met for project success.

This position will be remote to start but will ultimately work from our office in West Covina.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to direct reports.
• Participate in all project related internal and external communications including status reports, conference calls, and staff meetings.
• Work with Project Coordinator regarding distributing work to direct reports based on project priorities and/or needs.
• Help provide training for new and existing direct reports.
• Perform end of year reviews for direct reports.
• Update and maintain O-Calc Pro catalogs per Customer standards and requirements.
• Ensure projects are completed within scope of work as well as within schedule.
• Perform Pole Loading Analyses (PLA) and Make Ready Engineering (MRE) designs.
• Coordinate with Field Management and External Customers.
• Use data/project management systems to document and track model progress.
• Help with process Improvements, documentation, training to yield reduced processing time for the deliverable to move through the workflow.
• Consult with Osmose Field Personnel and Customer Contacts during project setup to evaluate field data collection, data processing, data validation, quality control validations for use by field foremen/technicians when necessary.
• Track and report on progress of production projects. Track time spent on various projects and customers. Maintain schedules and project forecasts.
• Contribute to other related projects and plans not specifically noted necessary to obtain the objectives of the Operations Group.
• Ability to travel as needed for project training and meetings.

Qualifications

• Four-year Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience using NESC and/or GO95 to perform MRE and PLAs required.
• Experience with Work Order Writing preferred.
• Experience using Notify, NJUNS, SPANS, or other similar systems preferred.
• Experience using O-Calc Pro or similar type software is required.
• Work on assigned tasks with minimum direction and input from supervisor.
• Ability to accurately and effectively identify overhead utility attachments.
• Understanding of basic engineering concepts, such as strength of materials, loads on structures and member forces, and reactions is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
