Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Nurse on Duty, the CNA performs direct resident care, assists with activities of daily living and provides a safe environment for the residents to live in.  This position requires the incumbent to perform at a level which will enhance the long-standing organizational values, mission and philosophy of Chai Point.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Work alone giving total care or assist resident with the following: bed bath, tub bath or shower; dental, hair, nail, shaving, dressing, undressing, application of make-up, hearing aids and eye glasses.
• Answer all requests promptly.
• Encourage active participation of residents in meeting their needs by promoting individualized care and activity attendance.
• Observes and reports pertinent information concerning changes in behavior or physical state of a resident to the LPN/RN.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident, department and organizational information.
• Assure that all resident rights are maintained at all times.
• Report any abuse or neglect to appropriate staff.  Have knowledge of how to file a complaint.

Education Required:  High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience Required:  Prior long term care CNA experience helpful. 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 

• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects. Specialized training or experience in geriatric care or gerontology is desirable.
