Position Purpose

The Compensation and Benefits Manager at P. Terry’s reports to the Vice President of Culture. This individual will collaborate with Culture, Finance and Recruiting to analyze, develop and implement new and revised benefits, compensation, performance management programs, policies and procedures that align with P. Terry’s business objectives, and are administered in compliance with internal policies and all government requirements and regulations. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day compensation and benefits related activities to ensure a positive employee experience.

This is an onsite position at our Home Office

Roles and Responsibilities

Compensation

• Manage overall compensation programs and strategies to offer a competitive total compensation package to recruit and retain talent.
• Manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
• Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives including developing pay grades to ensure consistency and competitive compensation.
• Works closely with recruiting to determine comp strategies and provide advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
• Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
• Conduct research of market trends, participate in compensation surveys, and stay abreast of emerging compensation trends to ensure consistent and compliant compensation programs.
• Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
• Develop incentive and performance management programs.
• Ensure the company’s compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
• Support the Culture team with recruitment and talent management activities.
• Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
• Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.

Benefits

• Manage the development and implementation, of new and revised benefit programs.
• Manage end-to-end benefits administration including maintaining benefits invoicing, internal audits, open enrollment, benefits, and wellness-related communications, and hosting new hire benefit orientation.
• Monitoring benefits costs to ensure they remain within budget guidelines.
• Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions and counsel employees regarding benefit programs and the plan coverage.
• Communicate with third-party services to resolve benefit-related issues.
• Works with broker to schedule mid-year review meetings and all tasks leading up to and after open enrollment.
• Manage payroll EDI feeds with carriers and payroll vendor.
• Manage Short Term Disability and all leave of absence programs.
• Completes and presents benchmark data on benefits and compensation.
• Complete all relevant filings and ensure benefits compliance (5500, ERISA, Section 125, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
• Serve as 401k plan administrator (day-to-day oversight of plan activities), main point of contact for annual 401k audit, and 5500 filing, enrollment communications.
• Conduct research of market trends, participate in benefits surveys, and stay abreast of emerging benefits trends to maintain a competitive benefits portfolio.
• Conduct research on employee satisfaction (e.g., using surveys and quantitative data)
• Provide reports as requested, compile statistics and analytics to present to the leadership team.
• Reviewing financial statements to ensure that the company is meeting its obligations to the DOL and other regulatory agencies.
• Coordinating employee benefits with human resources and payroll departments to ensure that all benefits are being provided correctly and on time.

Liability Insurance and Workman’s Comp

• Manage guest and employee incidents; collect incident reports from stands, home office, commissary, etc. track resolution, assist VP of Finance in processing claims.
• Manage Workman’s comp program; communicate with employees, submit and track claims, manage third party vendor, manage distribution of required documents, compliance, work with operations, facilities and training on safety initiatives/programs, manage return to work status and return to work restrictions and Bonafede offers.
• Approve and process all invoices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field, preferred.
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP, CCP and CBP certifications preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience managing and administering compensation, and benefits programs.
• Experience with employee satisfaction surveys
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PPACA and federal and state laws regarding benefits and compliance (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
• Proficiency in MS Office with exceptional experience with Excel (formulas, v-lookup, and Pivot Tables).

Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.

The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 20 pounds is necessary.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending on the project or assignment.
