If you’re ready to take your career to the next level and gain valuable experience, apply today!Reporting to PDS s Director of Payroll, the Provider Payroll Manager oversees the payroll administration specific to Provider Pay Payroll (Doctor s and Independent Contractors) inclusive of more than 800+ legal entities. This incumbent will elevate a team of payroll professionals in alignment with growth strategies of the department with a focus on continuous improvement, process automation and must be dedicated to accurate and timely processing of payroll, with problem resolution as needed and strong customer service.The incumbent will serve as the subject matter expert on payroll and will have a heavy focus on project management, leading and implementing various payroll projects, including a new time and attendance application. The Manager will work directly with internal and external stake holders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget and will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of projects and/or initiatives are managed for a successful and timely implementation.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements and efficiency of the Payroll ProcessesEnsure compliance with state and federal tax law through a series of audits and processes designed to ensure accurate, timely reportingMaintain and develop procedures for effective and efficient customer service and communications to team members for payroll tax mattersDevelop and maintain training manuals/intranet as guidance to team members in all areas of payroll with a heavy focus on Provider PayResearch and respond to escalated and/or complex inquiries related to payroll taxes, deductions and wage withholdingsDirects the activities of Workday Payroll Tax functionality as a component of an enterprise human capital management (HCM) systemMonitor current and impending changes that impact tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategiesProvide support in executive compensation and other benefit in kind issuesProvide leadership and direction for the Payroll analystPerforms Human Resources related functions, such as Interviewing and Selecting, Performance Appraisals, Disciplinary Actions and Salary AdministrationAssists Director of Payroll with development of the department budget and ensures adherence to the budgetLeads and manage recurring and ad-hoc payroll projectsParticipate in month-end and year-end close activities such as account reconciliations and other auditor required itemsWork closely with the Payroll Director, Payroll Operations Manager, Employee Relations, Compensation, Accounting and Legal in areas of incentive administration, research and reporting on ad-hoc payroll related inquiriesProvide assistance as needed with research and resolution to tax notices received from federal, state and local agencies in a timely mannerDevelop, coach, and mentor team members, while creating an environment for knowledge transfer and cross-trainingEnsure compliance of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulationsOther duties as assigned by ManagementQualificationsBachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. In lieu of degree, 8+ years of relevant work experienceCPP Designation or in process of attaining certification6+ years of experience preferably in a multi-regional corporate environmentPrior experience in managing a teamComprehensive knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local tax regulationsAdvanced knowledge of payroll systems, laws and practices, knowledge and administration of sound techniques in all aspects of payrollPreferredMaster s DegreeExperience in Workday PayrollExperience with Time and Attendance applications (i.e. Kronos, Workday, ADP)Experience in ADP Smart ComplianceExperience in a multi-regional healthcare, retail, or dental companyKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the workExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsDetail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focusedAbility to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited informationAbility to respond to common inquiries from team members, dental offices and other members of the business communitySelf-motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently as well as part of a teamBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offTuition Reimbursement401KPaid time to volunteer in your local communityPacific Dental Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
