Overview
The Vice President, is responsible for everything that happens and fails to happen inside the given market, with regards to Construction Implementation of fiber to the home program and projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets, and schedules. This includes but not limited to: interval performance, due date met performance, cost tracking and management, cost actuals versus budget, build quality, reporting accuracy, project tracker accuracy, reporting, communication updates and inter-department interface. The Vice President is expected to provide direction to a team of OSP Project Managers and Inspectors, as well as taking a direct accountability in large, high-profile projects. The overall Vice President goals are to deliver projects on time, on interval, on budget and in compliance with all build quality and safety standards.
Experience/Qualifications
· BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
· Seven to ten years technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP/ISP, optical networks, project management, and direct customer interface.
· The individual will manage an organization of 5 to 10 OSP personnel and managers.
· The position will require outstanding critical thinking and decision-making process, the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to same.
· The position will be expected to compose and manage both expense and capital budgets in excess of $5M. The individual will be responsible for the prompt delivery of FTTx.
· The individual must possess outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, as well as, strong interpersonal skills as he/she interfaces with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors.
· Experience in Vetro or Vitruvi would be a plus

About This Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Vice President of OSP Construction to help us deploy our market strategy as it relates to fiber to the premises, help coordinate marketing efforts with the marketing team and build a relationship with the local community. Our ideal candidate will have extensive construction experience and a comprehensive knowledge of fiber network engineering. Candidate must be skilled at presenting production metrics on a weekly basis. You will be responsible for tracking and managing key operating metrics. You will work with our Sales and Marketing department coordinating and communicating efforts and to help at organized events. You will also play a key role on the Pacific Wyyerd leadership team, actively contributing to Pacific Wyyerd’s growth strategy and supporting the GM and his/her peer group in executing that strategy.
Responsibilities
· Hiring/Managing a team of Project Managers and Project Inspectors that are qualified in OSP construction and managing contractors in the field.
· Manage all facets of the OSP project – deliver on time, on budget, within quality and safety standards. These projects include FTT projects, On-net orders, route miles of build which may involve major highway, Rail Road and/or river crossings/access.
· Resolve OSP roadblocks.
· Work through MSA’s and PSA’s to onboard contractors
· Effectively track, report and communicate OSP project progress.
· Provide early communication on potential due date, interval, and/or budget slips to the OSP functional leadership.
· Participate in project meetings at the corporate level and effectively support the overall project effort.
· Support customer meetings as necessary.
· Develop high-level OSP schedule/budget for each opportunity for a deployment phase.
· Develop detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP project tools), and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the project. Ensure that project tracker is updated daily.
· Oversee/Manage OSP RFP/bidding/award in compliance with company procurement policy.
· Review and approve OSP contractor invoices in a timely manner.
· Oversee the construction complete process and ensure all tasks are closed-out in a timely manner.
· Ensure as-built drawings to Fiber Engineering upon completion of construction for each segment.
· Daily and frequent interaction with third party outside plant engineering and construction suppliers, local municipalities, public utilities, Zayo service delivery coordinators. product leads, sales/sales support team members.
· Interface with Zayo senior management on critical projects, customer escalations, and budget reviews.
· Ensure project meet deadlines.
