Position Overview: Collaborate with the Health Promotion and Wellness Director on the development, implementation and administration of community, commercial and government wellness products, programs, partnerships and key initiatives. Provide oversight and consultation to Wellness Consultants on the planning, development, evaluation and performance of all comprehensive health management or wellness programs for employer groups. Work directly and indirectly with employer groups, schools districts and communities in all markets, to provide health promotion and wellness programs, with a strong focus on health promotion and facilitation of healthy behaviors. Interact with Health Promotion and Wellness Director, Marketing, Provider Network (CCN partners), Quality, Health Services, Government, Sales, Wellness Staff and other internal staff and external community entities as needed to facilitate the promotion and adoption of positive health behaviors throughout our communities. Maximize community, worksite, and member health by implementation of key health promotion and wellness initiatives. Collaborate with the Health Services Condition Support staff to effectively integrate wellness offerings with disease management programs.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for hiring, staff development, coaching, performance reviews, corrective actions, and termination of employees. Provide feedback, including regular one-on-ones and performance evaluations, for direct reports.
• Act as a lead for worksite/employer wellness program development and assessment of ongoing wellness programs as well as future wellness initiatives to improve member health and well-being.
• Plan, design, implement, evaluate and facilitate the Healthy Life Schools Challenge programs throughout all regions.
• Assist in the development of distribution of internal/external Healthy Life brand and program content for use both in marketing and sales and throughout the communities we serve.
• Evaluate and manage the member health portal from a wellness and health perspective. Interact with vendor as needed to ensure that all deliverables are received as contracted.
• Responsible for NCQA compliance in conjunction with wellness activities.
• Sit on School Wellness Committees when applicable.
• Collaborate with community partners to facilitate grass roots innovation around school and child health.
• Support the Director, Health Promotion and Wellness on local policy and advocacy around worksite and community health, using the lens of nutrition, physical activity, stress management and tobacco free living.
• Mentor Wellness Consultants by providing continual support and guidance related to best practice wellness programs and initiatives that address the company’s strategic initiatives.

• Develop, coordinate, and participate in wellness related community outreach and events.
• Provide excellent customer service with both internal and external clients that include contact via phone calls, emails, written communications, and face-to-face interactions.
• Interact with vendors, providers, agents, internal staff, and employer group representatives to identify products and plan those offerings that will produce the most value for our members.
• Assess the effectiveness of wellness programs including any health education programs that may be mail, or web-based.
• Oversee specific wellness vendor relationships, including contracting arrangements and compliance, as well as operational activities of any vendor-supplied programs.
• Participate on the PacificSource Wellness Committee and assist in the coordination of employee programs and activities.
• Provide or participate in presentations to prospective and current employer groups, agents, and employer benefit committees on available PacificSource wellness programs and activities.
• Work with the products team to research and develop new products internally and via partnerships with external vendors for wellness and prevention services and member value-added services.
• Responsible for oversight, management, development, implementation, and communication of department programs.
• Develop annual department budgets. Monitor spending versus the planned budgeted throughout the year and take corrective action where needed.
• Coordinate business activities by maintaining collaborative partnerships with key departments.
• Responsible for process improvement and working with other departments to improve interdepartmental processes. Utilize lean methodologies for continuous improvement. Utilize visual boards and daily huddles to monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities.
• Actively participate as a key team member in Manager/Supervisor meetings.
• Actively participate in various strategic and internal committees in order to disseminate information within the organization and represent company philosophy.

Supporting Responsibilities:

• Act as back-up for Health Promotion and Wellness Director
• Work on designated committees, teams, and task groups, as directed.
• Represent Healthy Life, both internally and externally, as requested.
• Assist with any other duties that may be required for efficient functioning of the department.
• Keep Director apprised of issues or concerns.
• Attend industry conferences as appropriate to stay up to date on current worksite, health promotion and wellness trends.
• Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
• Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience: 7-10+ years’ experience in program management specific to health education, worksite wellness, health promotion and population health with at least 3 years’ experience within a health payer setting. Experience creating and implementing wellness programs and health related tools and resources. Previous work on community health and school health initiatives.
Education, Certificates, Licenses: Bachelor of Public Health, Wellness Education or Promotion fields required.
Knowledge: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good active listening skills, experience with professional presentations, act as a technical resource for individuals and groups for best practice health information. Makes decisions and formulates responses based on best practices and medical care guidelines and other clinical information while speaking with program participants, developing programs, and working with internal and external staff. Experience in education/teaching. Strong customer service skills. Knowledge of, and research skills to locate, community services, providers, vendors and facilities available to assist members as well as information pertinent to conditions. Good organizational skills with experience in using computers and various software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook recommended. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 25% of the time.
