Consulting Application Engineer
Job Summary
You will be responsible for leading development efforts, driving adoption and appropriate use of technology and consulting on internal and external development efforts to ensure code quality and sound architecture. This is a leadership position that assumes the responsibility for project success and the upward development of team members. They are the development team’s point of contact that must interface with business partners of varying roles ranging from technical staff to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate for this role has the following qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience with software development, architecture and delivery
• Proven record of leadership
• An eagerness to stay abreast of emerging technologies that can be applied to business challenges
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
Duties (included but not limited to):
• Strategic enterprise planning to align IT software capabilities, policies, and standards with business needs
• Take a lead role on development teams, providing guidance on software architecture, design decisions, and mentoring.
• Working directly with Business Partners to provide guidance on how to design and implement software solutions that solve the business need.
• Develop, propose, and provide guidance on implementation of large IT and Business initiatives.
• Lead evaluations, negotiations and RFPs with internal and external developed software within IT&S guidelines
• Performing development using HCA standards and procedures, maintaining code and version control through Microsoft Team Foundation Server and/or other such tools as needs arise.
• Managing development projects thru inception, elaboration, development, testing, and implementation with the help of other assigned resources. Using various tools: VisualStudio, C#, ASP.NET ,T-SQL, MS, HTML 5, CSS, Javascript/JQuery/Ajax/JSON, Node.js, Domain Driven Design, Angular and React
• Completing Unit Testing and participating in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work
• Providing advanced software development troubleshooting to other development teams.
This job manages or performs work associated with analysis, design, implementation, operation, deployment, and support of the organization’s information technology resources (including computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data processing and security), telecommunication systems, and software/database products by internal staff, outsourcing staff, or consultants. Activities include developing information technology strategies, polices and plans; maintenance and use of information technology resources; training and supporting technology users; telecommunications network planning, operations and site acquisition; programming software/database products for sale to external customers; developing PC, online, and mobile games; and internet product management & operations. Positions in this sub-family are responsible for designing, developing, implementing and updating of internal IT applications (development may be in software, desktop technology, web technology, network security, messaging, mainframe, etc.) and planning, developing, producing and updating related technical documentation and training. Activities include evaluating, scheduling and resourcing development projects; investigating user needs; writing, testing and maintaining computer programs; planning, developing and implementing website and ecommerce applications; and preparing systems documentation and training. Development, programming, and configuration of organization-specific end user applications, systems software, databases, or websites for use by internal employees or for use in marketing, communications, or sales (including e-commerce websites) targeting external audiences are included.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• C# .NET Development
• ASP.NET MVC
• Experience in Data Modeling
• Ability to create, maintain and performance-tune MS SQL queries
• SDLC management through Team Foundation Server
• JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, AJAX, Angular, React
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures principles
• Ability to operate and communicate effectively within deadlines.
• Experience as an effective member of teams.
• Ability to work with little supervision
Education
• College graduate required

• 7+ years of experience on increasingly challenging projects in business, or systems analysis or systems development
