Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Purpose/Objective:
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist administers the activities relating to the company payroll and benefits processing including developing, implementing and monitoring (e.g., performing internal audit and control procedures to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate). The individual will be the company’s expert on all payroll and benefits administration.
Qualification:
● 3 years payroll experience – preferred
● 1-2 years benefits administration experience – preferred
● At least 2-3 years UKG experience – required
Duties & Responsibilities
PAYROLL:
● Ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy for hourly, salaried, and seasonal employees; including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, expenses, commission, and bonus payouts, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
● Interprets pay policies (PTO, LOA, Government Regulations, etc.)
● Lead third-party payroll system implementations and upgrades.
● Work with third-party vendors to set up tax profiles, and prepare quarterly and end-of-year tax reports
● Respond to VOE and Unemployment claims.
● Maintain employee records in payroll/HRIS systems.
● Assist with internal audits
● Implement, document, and maintain payroll procedures and best practices to improve efficiency
● Produces scheduled and ad-hoc reports
● Provide excellent customer service to all Parchies.
BENEFITS:
● Own and administer employee lifecycle processes: onboarding, offboarding, personnel changes, and leaves of absence.
● Administer all employee benefits programs including enrollments and terminations.
● Coordinate and conduct the new employee onboarding process and present benefits presentations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
● Assist HR Operations, Team Lead in planning and administering annual open enrollment. To include preparation (or revision) and distribution of open enrollment materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees and processing changes within deadlines.
● Plans, conducts, and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee.
● Addresses benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions. Maintains contact with employees and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
● Processes monthly billings from providers. Reviews billings for accuracy and approves for payment in a timely manner. Resolves discrepancies with carriers and payroll.
● Manage online benefit portal changes through UKG and benefit carrier sites.
● Coordinate with a third party administrator to manage disability claims according to the plan.
● Administers online COBRA enrollments/changes and responds to and manages unemployment claims and workers compensation cases.
● Responsible for enrollment, processing all 401(k) and Roth transactions, annual audits, and third-party vendor relationships
● Assist in wellness strategy & initiatives as needed.
● Maintain working relationships with benefits brokers and benefits carriers.
● Research, recommend and modify or implement employee benefits programs through vendor relationships.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
