Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

Education/Experience:

BSN/BAN from a school of nursing required.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

1. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
2. Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
3. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Labor and Delivery experience preferred

Candidate must have strong desire to join a care team that is highly skilled and committed to providing a safe, nurturing and calm environment for moms, babies, and their families. Candidate will possess excellent critical-thinking, multi-tasking and prioritization skills. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Family Birth Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It offers a complete range of perinatal services in 55 beds. The Family Birth Center includes a Triage, Labor/Delivery, Postpartum, Special Care Nursery and Surgical Suite used to care for women and their families as they travel along their childbirth journey.
